早在今年六月举办的 Netflix Geeked Week 2022 上，Netflix 官方宣布将与著名漫画家伊藤润二合作，推出名为《伊藤润二 Maniac：日本的恐怖故事》的动画剧集，把自己过往所创作的 20 部恐怖漫画作品动画化，其中包括了《富江》、《双一》、《人头气球》。
直到最近，这部恐怖动画《伊藤润二 Maniac》首次抢先曝光部分画面截图，同时也确定将在 2023 年 1 月 19 日正式播出。
