Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores review bombed due to LGBT elements

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores review bombed due to LGBT elements

One of the blockbuster games developed by Guerrilla Games and published by SIE, Horizon Forbidden West, received very positive reviews from players after its release last year, achieving a total score of 88 on Metacritic. However, the recently launched DLC Burning Shores has sparked controversy and even received a user score of only 3.2 on Metacritic.

The reason? According to most player comments, the review bomb of the DLC is mainly due to the inclusion of a plotline involving homosexuality. Some players have accused the developer of deliberately adding LGBT elements to adhere to political correctness, claiming that the content has ruined the game. Additionally, some fans have expressed disappointment that the DLC is exclusive to PS5 and that the game lacks enough content, with only five main storylines and a few supporting quests.

In Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores, players have the option to choose their own storyline. When the protagonist Aloy interacts with Seyka, the controversial scene could be avoided by not selecting the dialogue choice "Yes I Do ❤".
