FromSoftware has recently announced the development of the first DLC expansion Shadow of the Erdtree for Elden Ring, while also confirming the August 25 release of Armored Core 6. Despite players speculating that the new DLC would be released in the coming months, according to the latest financial report from Kadokawa Games, Shadow of the Erdtree is being viewed as a mid-to-long-term strategy for the company, which will help enhance the IP of Elden Ring and maximize profits by extending the value of the IP.
Moreover, Shadow of the Erdtree was not included in the sales and profit forecast for this fiscal year (ending on March 31, 2024), as the forecasts mentions only Armored Core 6, Spike Chunsoft, and some other mobile games. Therefore, it is speculated that we might not see the release of Shadow of the Erdtree until after April 1, 2024.
