早在去年 6 月期间，有外媒报道称法国动画公司 Cyber Group Studios 将会与 Square Enix 联手制作《Final Fantasy IX》系列动画剧集，但之后便没有任何相关消息。直到最近，Cyber Group Studios 国际授权和营销副总裁 Bruno Danzel d'Aumont 透露《Final Fantasy IX》动画即将于 5 月 25 日至 27 日举办的 Licensing Expo 2022 展览上初次亮相。
根据此前的消息所述，这部《Final Fantasy IX》系列动画剧集主要是面向 8 至 13 岁的儿童，同时 Cyber Group Studios 也会负责全球发行、授权以及推出相关周边商品等等。《Final Fantasy IX》最早推出于 2000 年 7 月，讲述着盗贼吉坦以及伙伴们，绑架了亚历山大王国的嘉妮特公主，但因为一系列的情况下，达成了合作共同展开一场不可思议的冒险旅途，对抗更大的威胁。
