由动视推出的《Call of Duty》系列一路以来每年都会推出一款新作，但近日根据彭博社报道透露，有消息称 2023 年《Call of Duty》或可能要缺席了，延至 2024 年内发售，原因是《Call of Duty: Vanguard》的表现欠佳没有达到理想，而且公司高层认为每年推出新作的速度貌似太快了，所以才做出这样的决定，并非因为微软收购所致。
虽然 2023 年不会推出系列新作、续作，但据这个消息源所述，动视团队依然会筹备其他项目来弥补 2023 年的空窗期。除此之外，动视也计划在 2022 年推出《Call of Duty: Modern Warfare》新续作。当然，以上的言论仅能当做传闻，暂时还无法直接证实，准确消息有待官方今后公布。
