本作是由 2010 年 4 月所发售的《NieR Replicant》为基础的升级强化版本《NieR Replicant Ver.1.22474487139》，游戏讲述着于 2017 年推出的《NieR Automata》当中的世界究竟是如何形成的故事，玩家会扮演一名少年，为了拯救患有严重黑文病的妹妹，踏上了寻求治疗方法的冒险之旅，展开了一系列的探索以及战斗！
