The 19th installment of the popular bullet hell game series Touhou Project, created by Team Shanghai Alice, titled Touhou Beast King Garden: Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost, was officially announced today.
The game is scheduled to be released at this year's summer Comic Market, with demo version to be made available at the Hakurei Shrine Grand Festival on May 7, 2023. Of course, the game will also be released on Steam, with players able to control the five characters of Reimu Hakurei, Marisa Kirisame, Aunn Komano, Nazrin, and Seiran.
According to developer ZUN, Touhou Beast King Garden: Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost will adopt the two-player split-screen style like the series' ninth installment Touhou: Phantasmagoria of Flower View, but it will be rebuilt in terms of graphics, controls, and bullets to make it more similar to the common Touhou Project games. As the story modes utilize systems that are slightly different from the battle modes, players can enjoy playing single-player game modes even without company.
The story of Touhou Beast King Garden: Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost describes how the ownership of ancient land has become meaningless due to the open market.
