The Quintessential Quintuplets, a Japanese manga series created by Negi Haruba, has continued to release games and anime adaptations even after the original manga ended back in 2020, demonstrating the popularity of the Nakano quintuplets. Meanwhile, the series upcoming anime adaptation The Quintessential Quintuplets~ has just released a preview visual, confirming that the TV special will be released in Japanese theaters for a limited three-week run starting on July 14, 2023. This new series will adapt the original manga chapters that were not included in previous anime adaptations.

The Quintessential Quintuplets tells the story of a second-year high school student named Futaro Uesugi who is academically gifted but has no friends due to his poor social skills. One day, his father arranges for him a high-paying job as a private tutor for the Nakano quintuplets who have recently moved in. Despite their stunning appearances, the five sisters struggle with their grades and are on the brink of failing. Thus, the primary task for Futaro is to earn their trust and teach them to pass their exams so that they can graduate successfully.

On the other hand, the anime's opening theme Gotoubun no Mirai and ending Takaramono will still be performed by the voice actors of the quintuplets (Kana Hanazawa, Ayana Taketatsu, Miku Itou, Ayane Sakura, and Inori Minase). The songs will be released in CD form on July 12, 2023, also including songs from the series' game releases.
