Square Enix 于 5 月 27 日（《勇者斗恶龙日》）释出了一段简短的预告片，确定了《勇者斗恶龙 3 HD-2D 重制版》将登陆 Playstation 5、Xbox Series、Nintendo Switch 以及 PC 平台，但暂时依然尚未有任何上市日期消息以及游戏详情。
虽然本次亮相的短片并没有提到《勇者斗恶龙 3》，但它展示了《勇者斗恶龙》 、《勇者斗恶龙 2：恶灵的众神》和《勇者斗恶龙 3：接着迈向传说》皆有出现过的印记，后续接着用文字表示 —— “传承开始了 The legacy begins”，而且右上角还有 HD-2D 的标志，因此能够直接推断这就是《勇者斗恶龙 3 HD-2D 重制版》。
