The Elusive Samurai showcases first trailer, airs in 2024!

The historical manga series The Elusive Samurai, created by Yuusei Matsui, known for the popular manga series Assassination Classroom, announced its TV anime adaptation earlier in March this year. The anime's first teaser trailer, visual, and voice cast information was recently made public. The anime is scheduled to be broadcast in 2024, with CloverWorks in charge of production.

In 1333 AD, the Kamakura shogunate's senior vassal, Ashikaga Takauji, defected to the Emperor Go-Daigo, resulting in the shogunate's overthrow and the near-destruction of the ruling Hōjō clan. The young shogun, Hojo Tokiyuki, sought refuge with the chief priest of the Suwa Shrine, Suwa Yorishige, in Shinano Province. Under the protection of the Suwa clan, Tokiyuki grew and befriended like-minded allies, honing his skills in escape and beginning his legendary path as a hero who achieved greatness through his ability to run away. But for now, he is just a young boy who has lost his home and family, and has nowhere to go.
