This morning, Sony Interactive Entertainment officially announced that their current President and CEO, Jim Ryan, will retire in March 2024. Starting from April 2024, Hiroki Totoki, the current Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer of Sony Group Corporation, will temporarily assume the role of CEO at the company as he continues his current role at Sony Group Corporation. To facilitate a smooth transition, Hiroki Totoki will also serve as the Chairman of SIE starting from October 2023.
Jim Ryan, who has been working at SIE for nearly 30 years, announced his retirement primarily due to finding it increasingly challenging to strike the right balance between his home in the United Kingdom and his work in the United States. Here's a brief overview of Jim Ryan's career at SIE:
Jim Ryan initially joined SIEE (Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe) in 1994, where he held various senior positions. This includes serving as the President of SIEE. Later, starting from January 2018, he took on the role of Head of Global Sales and Marketing at SIE, along with being the Vice President. Subsequently, he was appointed as the President and CEO of SIE.
