近几年，因为疫情的影响，由 Entertainment Software Association 每年履行举办的 E3 游戏展览会改为线上活动，停止线下活动，但在今年 E3 依旧逃不过疫情的魔掌，最终还是选择停办线上与线下活动。近日 ESA 在接受海外媒体（The Washington Post）采访中确认，E3 游戏展将在 2023 年重新举办，届时包括线上和线下活动。
E3 CEO Stan Pierre-Louis 还在采访中提到，各个游戏制作公司目前都在透过“线上发布会”的方式来寻找最为有效的推广途径，但是线下模式依然存在着发展空间，所以今后会将线上和线下活动结合在一起，才是 E3 游戏展关键的要素之一。目前 E3 2023 具体举办时间还未公布，有待官方后续发表。
