今天对于玩家、Square Enix 都是个非常值得纪念的日子，对没错，正是《最终幻想7》首次发行的日子 —— 1 月 31 日，同时也代表着《最终幻想7》正式迈入第 26 周年。为了更好纪念这个日子，SE 官方正式宣布在日本周年纪念协会将 1 月 31 日注册为“最终幻想7日”。
制作人北濑佳范也在今日发表致辞，说道：“1997 年 1 月 31 日，即《最终幻想7》问世的那一天，不仅对于《最终幻想》系列来说是一个重要的日子，而且对于我们这些从事游戏的人来说，也标志着许多重大事件开始发生变化。我记得我被游戏技术的飞速发展所震撼，同时也对未来抱有远大的梦想。随着这个正式周年纪念日的设立，我现在将永远记住这些事情，并将它们牢记在心。”
