HomeBois is the champion of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY) Season 12! They secured their first MPL MY title after overcoming Team SMG 4-3 in the closely-fought Grand Finals on 8 October, sending thousands of fans into raptures at Dewan Sri Putra, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. It was HomeBois' first-ever appearance in an MPL MY Grand Final and their first-ever victory over Team SMG.
As MPL MY Season 12 champions, HomeBois secured the lion's share of the US$100,000 prize pool and the right to carry out the MI5I Malaysia mission – of bringing #pantangmengalah spirit to the global arena – by representing Malaysia at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M5 World Championship 2023. The M5 World Championship will take place from 2 to 17 December in the Philippines. Team SMG will take the long route to the M5 World Championship by advancing to the M5 Wild Card from 23 to 26 November – which will be held in Malaysia for the first time – where they will fight for two berths in the M5 World Championship.
HomeBois' MPL MY Season 12 title reflects their remarkable progression since their MPL MY debut in Season 7, where they placed 7th/8th. Renowned for their passionate and massive fanbase, HomeBois strengthened their team this season with the addition of Roamer Mohamad "Xorn" Zul Hisham Bin Mohd Noor, Gold Laner Wahyu "RaizeL" Saputra, and coach Khairul "PABZ" Azman Bin Mohd Sharif. Xorn, in particular, played a key role in the final, being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Playoffs.
HomeBois' title-winning run in Season 12 began with a 3rd-place finish during the Regular Season, where they lost out to only RSG Malaysia (1st) and Team SMG (2nd). In the Playoffs, they beat Season 10 champions, Team HAQ, 2-0 in the Upper Bracket Quarter Finals, before overcoming the top-placed team this Regular Season, RSG Malaysia, 2-1 in the Upper Bracket Semi Finals. They followed this up with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Selangor Red Giants in the Upper Bracket Finals to set up a Grand Finals showdown against Team SMG.
