[Leak] Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to release demo version on February 7!

Square Enix previously announced that a State of Play event for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth would be held on February 7 at 7:30 AM (GMT+8), aiming to showcase the latest news and information about the game to players. However, the PlayStation official website accidentally leaked a trailer for the demo version of the game on its official PlayStation 5 store page. As a result, it can be inferred that the demo version will be available for download shortly after the conclusion of the livestream.

As for the content of the demo, it should be the same as what was showcased at the Tokyo, Bangkok, and Taipei Game Shows , divided into two parts:

  • Fated Beginnings: Sephiroth & Cloud - This part mainly allows players to experience the story between the main characters, Cloud and Sephiroth. Due to anomalies at the Mako Reactor atop Mt. Nibel, the two investigate together along the mountain path. In addition to controlling Cloud, players can also engage in battles as Sephiroth.
  • The World of FF7 Rebirth: Junon Area - In this demo, Cloud and his companions, including Tifa, Aerith, Barret, and Red XIII, arrive at the Junon Area, whre players can ride on chocobos, explore the vast area, encounter different NPCs, and take on base challenges.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is scheduled to be released on February 29, 2024, as a timed exclusive for PlayStation 5.
