Written by Aoi Akashiro and illustrated by Sonsho Hangetsuban, the anime adaptation of manga series Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudo ("What God Does in a World Without Gods") was announced in April last year, and further information was released today including the first PV, additional characters, and voice cast. The anime is set to air in April 2023.

The story of Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudo follows the protagonist, Yukito, whose father is the leader of a strange cult. He died in a harsh trial arranged by his father, but is reincarnated into a different world without the concepts of "gods" or "religion." For Yukito, this world seems like an ideal one, but he is ultimately saved by the god of his religion, Mitama, and must build a religion in this godless world in order to protect its inhabitants and strengthen the power of Mitama.
