Developed by Supermassive Games and published by Sony, the interactive drama horror game Until Dawn, released in 2015, is set to receive a film adaptation, according to The Hollywood Reporter. 

The movie is being produced by Gary Dauberman from Coin Operated Productions, recognized for his screenwriting in popular horror franchises like It, Annabelle, and The Nun. Other producers include Sandberg and Lotta Losten from Mangata, Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, and Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan from PlayStation Productions.

Dauberman is currently revising the script initially penned by Blair Butler, known for her work on the 2022 horror film The Invitation.

As of now, there is limited information available about the movie. Screen Gems describes the film adaptation as "an R-rated love letter to the horror genre, centering on an ensemble cast."

According to Sony Interactive Entertainment's description of the game,

Only your choices determine who survives.

Eight friends are trapped together on a remote mountain retreat, and they aren’t alone. Gripped by dread, with tensions running high, they must fight through their fear if they all hope to make it through the night in one piece.

Play as each of the eight characters and experience fear like you never have before. Every decision you make in your terrifying search for answers could mean the difference between life and death, but for whom? Your actions alone will decide who survives Until Dawn.
