《Relayer》世界观设定为包含太阳系的银河里，人类的科技已经发展到了可以在火星与月球居住，并想继续将生存范围延伸至木星程度。然而，人类的生存遭受了神秘的外星生物“Relayer”威胁，它的计划是将整个宇宙给消灭，为了对抗 Relayer 的入侵，“Starchild”的继承者们觉醒了。
