What would it feel like to hunt monsters in the streets, parks, and communities? CAPCOM surprisingly announced that they will collaborate with Niantic to release a mobile game called Monster Hunter Now that allows players to hunt monsters in the "real world". The game is scheduled to be officially released in September 2023 for iOS / Android, with its closed beta test now available for sign-up.
According to Ryozo Tsujimoto, the producer of the Monster Hunter series, this is a new and unprecedented Monster Hunter game that allows players to adventure with their companion "Palico" in the real world and encounter amazing monsters. Niantic, the developer, has enhanced the augmented reality technology to create a "right here, right now" hunting experience for players, whether they are new or veteran hunters. Players unite as hunters on an adventure, where they will team up and defeat various monsters. Even on journeys where the game is not active, players will still be marked for monsters they encounter along the way, which they can hunt later.
