Initially published on the author's Twitter account before being serialized in Square Enix's Monthly Gangan Joker, the school romance manga Suki na Ko ga Megane o Wasureta ("The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses") will be adapted into a TV anime. Today, further information regarding the upcoming anime was officially announced, including a brand-new trailer and key visual, as well as the production team and voice casts. The anime will premiere in July 2023.
Suki na Ko ga Megane o Wasureta tells the story between Komura and Mie, whom Komura has a crush on and now sits next to him after a class reshuffle. However, one day, Komura notices that Mie's gaze has become hostile, and he doesn't know how to talk to her. It's only after he initiates a conversation with her that he realizes that Mie's eyesight is poor when she forgets to wear her glasses. Komura then tries to help Mie, who can't see properly. But Mie's forgetfulness with her glasses is not just a one-time occurrence... As they grow closer due to the increasing interactions caused by Mie's forgetfulness, will Komura's heart be able to handle it?
