The team behind Deathloop, Prey, and Dishonored, developer Arkane Studios' latest release, Redfall, was officially launched earlier this month. However, it has become their first game to flop, receiving negative reviews not only from critics but also from players due to its content and optimization issues.
In response to this, Xbox head Phil Spencer addressed the issue during an interview with the Kinda Funny Games program, stating, "there's nothing that’s more difficult for me than disappointing the Xbox community."
"And just to watch the community lose confidence, be disappointed, I'm disappointed. I'm upset with myself. I revisit our process - I think back to the announcement of 60fps and then we weren't shipping 60fps, that was our punch in the chin, rightfully, a couple of weeks ago. And then seeing the game come out and the critical response was not what we wanted, and it's disappointing," he added.
However, Xbox, Bethesda, and Arkane Austin promise that they will continue to improve the game with future updates, including a patch that will support 60FPS.
