The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Singapore (MPL SG) Season 6 got off to a flying start last weekend. Week 1 of Regular Season play set a new record for Peak Concurrent Viewers (PCV), with the match between Bleed SG and Homebois SG obtaining 12,585 PCV, according to Esports Charts. This is the highest PCV of any Regular Season match in MPL SG history and is also over 65% higher than the most-watched match of Season 5, which was 7,600 PCV during the Grand Final. The Day 1 match between Homebois SG and Alchemy SG also exceeded last season's peak with more than 10,500 PCV.
More than a hundred fans showed up at the Zenway Studios esports arena in Week 1 to support their teams. Pre-registration tickets will become available weekly here, with details to be released on MPL SG's social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, and YouTube. Tickets are free and available on a first-come-first-served basis, with all attendees to stand a chance to win in-game items, such as epic skins. More details on this week's upcoming match schedules can be viewed on the MPL SG website.
Fans can tune in to the action online; all of the matches will be livestreamed on the official MPL SG Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok channels.
Week 1 Results: Defending Champions Humbled
Three-time MPL SG champions, RSG SG, began their Season 6 campaign with a 1-2 loss at the hands of long-time rivals, Team Flash. Team Flash Roamer, Bellamy "Lolsie" Yeo, played a crucial role in his team's victory. Having been sent to Team Flash on loan from RSG SG at the start of the season, Lolsie played like he had a point to prove, and his triple combo of Kaja, Edith, and Ruby was too much for his former team, earning him the Man of the Match. His confidence was brimming in the post-match interview, where Lolsie described himself as the "win con[dition]" for Team Flash.
Elsewhere, MPL SG debutants, Homebois SG, picked up crucial wins in their opening two matches, including a hard-fought 2-1 victory against one of this season's favourites, Bleed Esports. A community favourite from across the border, Homebois SG are living up to their billing as this season's dark horses and will be one to watch as the season progresses.
Homebois SG Gold Laner, Russell "Enya" Lee, shares with MPL SG host, Cheryl Yao, about the importance of not becoming complacent following Homebois SG's 2-1 victory over Bleed Esports
Week 2: Early Test For League Leaders
Week 2 holds some mouth-watering match-ups. Defending champions, RSG SG, will go up against this season's table topping upstarts, Homebois SG, at 12:30 PM on September 16. A win will be a major statement for either team, especially with their title rivals watching hungrily from the sidelines.
Day 2 on September 17 will be no less exciting as eternal rivals Bleed Esports and RSG MY lock horns at 10 AM. Regardless of RSG MY's results the previous day, they will know that this is a must-win match to keep their title ambitions on track. Homebois SG will then face off against EVIL's unorthodox draft picks at 3 PM in a stern test for this season's dark horses.
Organised by MOONTON Games and Zenway Productions, MPL SG is Singapore's only standalone pro esports league. The Season 6 Regular Season will see eight of Singapore's best Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) teams compete across four weekends – from 9 to 30 September – for a shot at the SG$100,000 prize pool and the right to represent Singapore at the M5 World Championship in the Philippines.
The Regular Season will follow a single round-robin format, with the eight teams to compete in Best-of-Three (BO3) matches. All eight teams will then proceed to the Playoffs taking place from 20 to 22 October. The Playoffs will follow a double elimination tournament format, where the top four teams in the Regular Season point rankings will be seeded into the Upper Bracket, while the bottom four teams will be seeded into the Lower Bracket.
