The pixel-art racing game series F-ZERO, originally produced by Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development, has announced a new installment titled F-ZERO 99. It was unveiled during the recent Nintendo Direct presentation and is available on Nintendo Switch starting today. Users with NSO subscription can also enjoy the game for free.
According to official description, F-ZERO 99 is based on the original F-ZERO game on SNES but incorporates a Battle Royale style gameplay that allows up to 99 players to race against each other simultaneously. Players can collect super fireworks to create sky pathways, making it easier to reach top positions. However, constant collisions during the race deplete an energy meter, and if it reaches zero, the player's vehicle will explode, eliminating them from the game. The last car standing will be the winner.
