The Japanese manga series Undead Unluck, created by Yoshifumi Tozuka and serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, previously announced its TV anime adaptation. During the recent Anime Expo 2023 event, the second trailer for the anime was released, along with the announcement that the series will begin airing in October 2023. The anime is being produced by David Production, with Yuki Yase serving as the director.

The story of Undead Unluck revolves around Fuuko Izumo, a girl with the "Unluck" ability that will bring misfortune to those around her. Tired of causing misfortune to others, Fuuko decides to end her life. However, she encounters Andy, a boy with the "Undead" ability, who is also seeking to end his life as he is sick of his immortality. Despite their intentions, both Fuuko and Andy fail to die. Determined to die the best death possible, the two decide to work together. However, they soon discover that a mysterious organization is lurking in the shadows, seeking to exploit their peculiar abilities.
