Valve 官方近日释出了《Half-Life》系列 25 周年的纪录片，分享许多关于这款游戏的幕后故事，同时 Valve 创办人 Gabe Newell（G胖）也从中提及游戏延期这回事。他表示当时《Half-Life》在临近发售之际决定延期，即使发行商不会额外提供开发经费，他们都坚持延期把游戏开发完整才推出。
并认为「游戏延期只是暂时的事，但做得烂是永远的」，而他从来都不觉得延期个几次有什么问题，反而是仓促上架的烂会被玩家一直记得，并且难以重新挽回与玩家之间的信任关系。他补充说道：「我们可以尝试让这款游戏成为例外，但这不是我们想要成为的公司，这不是我们想要成为的人。这不是我们想要与客户建立的关系。」
