Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia is pleased to announce that Digimon World: Next Order has been released for the Nintendo Switch and STEAM today.
This Training RPG game utilises the gameplay system of the Digimon World series, allowing players to train their Partner Digimon — each with their own personalities and lifespans — and journey together across the Digital World while battling various wild Digimon.
New features have been added, such as a Beginner Mode difficulty level as well as a Run ability that increases your movement speed by 1.4 times – making the game even easier to pick up and play.
Beginner Mode
The Beginner Mode difficulty level is an easy-to-play difficulty that puts a cap on enemy strength, making it ideal for players new to the Digimon World series.
Run Ability
Run to increase your movement speed by 1.4 times! This helps you traverse the massive Digital World map faster than ever.
- Your Adventure in the Digital World Begins
The hero of the game is a third-year high school student that is suddenly thrust into the Digital World.
As a fifth grader, they were fascinated by the Digital Monster game, and even took second place in a national tournament. One day, upon activating the Digivice they received from the tournament, the hero is suddenly transported to another dimension known as the Digital World.
To save the Digital World from destruction and find their way back home, they set off on a journey of adventure with two Partner Digimon.
- Go on an Adventure to Save the Digital World from Danger
Starting in the town of Floatia, set out on your adventure with your Partner Digimon while collecting information and items to help advance the story. Wild Digimon can be found roaming about the map and may even engage you in battle.
As more Digimon begin to populate Floatia, the town will gradually become more developed – erecting new facilities to help you raise your Digimon and aid you on your adventures, allowing you to train even more powerful Digimon.
As you explore the area, you may come across Digimon that require your assistance. Helping these Digimon may cause them to move to Floatia.
When out in the field, you can use the Camp function to restore your health and cook food. You can also catch fish to use as ingredients and just spend relaxing moments with your Partner Digimon.
- Raising your two Partner Digimon over the Course of their Limited Lifespans
In this game, you can raise two Partner Digimon at once. Although these Partner Digimon will join you on your adventures, they have limited lifespans – which means that you must not only train them during that time, but you would also need to form bonds with them by taking care of their needs, such as feeding them and taking them to the bathroom.
By training them and allowing them to participate in battles, your Partner Digimon will grow and evolve into even stronger Digimon.
Once your Partner Digimon reach the end of their lifespan, they will turn into a DigiEgg and you will need to raise them again. However, they retain their basic parameters and skills – making it easier to continue developing them into even stronger Digimon.
- Battles Feature the Strategic Use of Orders to Guide your Digimon
Your Partner Digimon will fight battles while acting on their own accord.
Their actions will differ depending on their personality, and you can support them by issuing Orders or using items, so do what you can to help give them an edge in battle.
The stronger the Bond between your Partner Digimon, the more they will support each other. However, if you have not trained them properly, they may not listen to you, so take good care of them on a regular basis.
Having two Partner Digimon gives you access to special Digifuse Skills and powerful ExE orders, so use them to your advantage to fight alongside your partners as one cohesive unit.
