Whenever May comes around, many of us might lament that time flies, and in just one more month there will only be half of 2023 remaining. But that's not the case for me — overwhelmed by May Blues, all I want to do is to lie down at home and check out my game library to see what games I haven't finished yet. After all, only by completing the remaining games on hand can I wholeheartedly devote myself to the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Of course, besides Tears of the Kingdom, there are still many good games waiting for you to explore this May!

• Redfall | Xbox Series / PC (May 2, 2023)

Redfall is a game set on an island that has been besieged by vampires who have blocked out the sun and cut off all contact with the outside world. Players will fight against these demonic enemies alongside a few surviving humans, forming a team of vampire hunters. The game offers both unique single-player and multiplayer modes, allowing players to choose hero characters with special abilities to embark on adventures alone or to team up with up to three others. Through teamwork and the combination of each character's unique strengths, players must overcome the vampire army and their followers.

• KAKU: Ancient Seal | Steam (May 4, 2023)

In KAKU: Ancient Seal, players will assume the role of Kaku and embark on an adventure across a vast continent to bring harmony back to the realm. With the aid of a pet pig, you will need to venture through four elemental regions and defeat their rulers in order to fulfill your destiny.

Kuroinu, which is well-known in both the Galgame and R18 communities, is (unfortunately) being released as an all-ages version this time with Kuroinu Redux. It is still unknown whether the developers will release an R18 patch after the game's official release. The game depicts the Seven Shields Alliance — led by an elven goddess incarnate and is desperate to end a bloody war — seek out the assistance of the protagonist Vult and his Black Dog Mercenaries. He then turns on them and takes control in this visual novel story of betrayal.

• Amnesia: The Bunker | Playstation 4 / Xbox One / Xbox Series / PC (May 23, 2023)

Amnesia: The Bunker is the latest title of the popular horror game series Amnesia. The game will be played in a first-person perspective, and will feature semi-open world gameplay and sandbox-like survival elements. The game is set during WW1, where the player, taking on the role of the French soldier Henri Clément, must try to figure out the mysteries of the eponymous bunker, while struggling to find his way out of it.

• Miasma Chronices | Playstation 5 / Xbox Series / PC (May 23, 2023)

Developed by The Bearded Ladies, the team behind Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, Miasma Chronicles is a tactical adventure game set in the near future where America has been torn apart by a savage force known only as the Miasma. The protagonist Elvis, who was left by his mother in the care of a robotic older "brother", was given a mysterious glove with which he can control the Miasma. Players will join the brothers on a quest across a post-apocalyptic wasteland to find the answers they crave, answers which may change the course of human history forever.

• After Us | Playstation 5 / Xbox Series / PC (May 23, 2023)

In After Us, players will play as Gaia, the Spirit of Life, and navigate stunning platforming environments in an abstract world to salvage the souls of extinct animals. Based on The Lord of the Rings franchise, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a stealth action-adventure game where players will take on the role of Gollum in his evil journey to find the precious One Ring. After a two-months delay, System Shock remake is finally launching at the end of this month! The game is a first-person action-adventure game initially released in 1994. Set in a space station in the year 2072, players will take on the role of an unnamed hacker exploring the station, fighting enemies, solving puzzles, and attempting to thwart the malicious artificial intelligence program named SHODAN.
