At the recent Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival held in Tokyo, Square Enix announced that the global player count for Final Fantasy XIV has surpassed the 30 million milestone. They also announced that version 7.0 "Dawntrail" is set to be released globally in the summer of 2024, with a 5-minute trailer and main visual unveiled during the event.
According to previously released details, version 7.0 "Dawntrail" will see the introduction of "Viper", a melee Job capable of wielding dual blades and possesses the unique ability to combine two swords into a two-handed weapon.
In addition to the new Job, the expansion will bring various new content, including a new main city "Tuliyollal", new areas "Kozama’uka" & "Shaaloani", a new alliance faction called "Moblins", a formidable new enemy known as the "Eliminator", a new Alliance Raid called "Echoes of Vana'diel", new specializations, equipment, an increased level cap (up to level 100), among others.
Moreover, at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival, another new Job "Pictomancer" was also unveiled. Pictomancer is a magical ranged DPS Job that utilizes a Brush as its weapon. A brand-new playable race "Female Hrothgar" is also set to be introduced in the game.
