The upcoming remake of the horror game Alone in the Dark, developed by Pieces Interactive and published by THQ Nordic for PlayStation 5 / Xbox Series / Steam / GOG, has announced today that its release will be delayed from the originally scheduled date of October 25, 2023, to January 16, 2024. The primary reason for the delay is to avoid competing with two other highly anticipated releases in October — Alan Wake 2 and Marvel's Spider-Man 2. This additional time will be used to further polish the game and provide a better gaming experience, while also allowing players to fully immerse in the October releases.

Offen referred to as the "first 3D survival horror game", Alone in the Dark was originally released in 1992 and developed by the French game company Infogrames. In the following years, sequels such as Alone in the Dark 2 and Alone in the Dark 3 were also released. 

Set in the 1920s in the southern United States, the game starts with the mysterious disappearance of Emily Hartwood's uncle.
