Valve officially announced their long-awaited new game Counter-Strike 2 last week and launched a limited test. The company will send test qualifications to players based on various factors such as playtime, trust, and Steam reputation. However, once this news was announced, many players started idling in CS:GO in an attempt to increase their playtime and increase their chances of qualifying for the test.
Today, the officials have reminded players on social media that idling in CS:GO will not increase their chances of getting selected for the Counter-Strike 2 limited test. They have also stated that they will mainly take into consideration the duration of playtime before the testing period, so simply increasing the amount of time spent idling now will not make it easier for players to get selected. It's worth mentioning that CS:GO's recent achivement of 1.5 million concurrent online players might be attributed to a large number of players idling online.
