Developer Colossal Order and publisher Paradox Interactive have shared the latest news about their upcoming city-building simulation game Cities: Skyline II today. In the official announcement, it was mentioned that the team is working diligently to prepare for the game's release. However, during this process, they realized that the game's quality on consoles did not meet their standards, therefore requiring more time for optimization.
In order to provide players with the best gaming experience, they have decided to postpone the release date for the console platforms to spring 2024. At that time, it will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, and it will also be added to the Xbox Game Pass lineup.
On the other hand, the game's release date for PC (Steam) remains unaffected and is scheduled for October 24 as originally planned. PC players will also be able to access the game through PC Game Pass.
According to the official introduction, in Cities: Skylines II, players will have more freedom to unleash their creativity and imagination to create and manage their dream cities. The city will also constantly evolve and change based on the player's development and decisions, thus demanding players' strategic thinking on how to make the city thrive by stimulating its economy, attracting more people, and meeting the needs of the citizens.
