作为「炼金工房」系列 25 周年纪念的作品，Koei Tecmo 今日在“Tokyo Game Show 2021”游戏发布会上正式公布《苏菲的炼金工房》全新续作《苏菲的炼金工房 2 ~不可思议梦的炼金术师~》的消息，并释出宣传预告片让玩家观赏，同时宣布本作预定将在 2022 年 2 月 25 日推出，登陆 Playstation 4 / Nintendo Switch / Steam 平台。
当然，本作的人物设计依旧由 NOCO 与 ゆーげん 两位插画师负责担任，故事剧情方面则是以苏菲等人成长之路为主轴，融合了谜题要素的调和系统等也将是本系列的特色之一。本作描绘了苏菲于梦幻世界「艾德维格」寻找失散的搭档普拉芙妲的冒险谈，以及与冒险过程中邂逅的伙伴间的羁绊与心灵的传承。
