In a statement issued today by Systemic Reaction, the developer and publisher of the cooperative three-player shooter game Second Extinction, it was announced that the development of the game will be discontinued.
Currently, the game is no longer purchasable on Steam and Epic Games Store. Server support will be maintained for some time, before its official closure next year.
In the official announcement, the developers express their deep gratitude to every player who supported the game. They mentioned that this difficult decision came after careful consideration and exploring the best course of action. While this outcome was not what they had hoped for, they promised that it won't result in any layoffs. The passion, talent, and skills of the team members involved in the project will be channeled into other projects at the Systemic Reaction studio.
Second Extinction is a three-player co-op shooter game that involves eradicating hordes of mutated dinosaurs. Players will confront a multitude of ever-changing threats within the game and strive to survive.
