Team SMG and Team Lilgun have secured the M5 World Championship spots! Hosted in Kuala Lumpur for the first time, the M5 Wild Card saw eight international teams, from China to the Middle East, compete for the remaining two slots in the M5 World Championship. The new format served as an opportunity for emerging regions to compete and advance onto the Group Stage located in the Philippines.

Kickstarting the final day of the M5 Wild Card, held in JioSpace, Kuala Lumpur, national representatives Team SMG sent Imperio E-sports packing with a formidable 3-1, to the excitement and delight of their local fans on the ground. Their ticket to the M5 Group Stage marks an epic chapter in Team SMG's redemption arc to be #BetterThanGreat against formidable contenders and old rivals. Team SMG will next face Blacklist International, Fire Flux Esports, and RRQ Akira in Group B of the M5 World Championship.

Mongolian titans, Team Lilgun, swept Niightmare Esports off their dreams to claim the final M5 World Championship slot. The M Challenge Cup Mekong Season 2 champions ruthlessly dispatched their Laotian rivals to follow up on their impressive finish at the IESF World Esports Championship 2023, where the tournament dark horses placed 5th-6th.

The M5 World Championship will take place from December 2 to 17 in the Philippines, and the top 16 teams will battle to be #BetterThanGreat for a slice of the US$900,000 prize pool.
