SEGA has recently released a brand new animation for the upcoming Sonic Superstars, a new installment in the Sonic series. The animation showcases the chaotic and lively interactions between Sonic and his adversaries, Dr. Eggman, Trip, and Fang. The game is set to be released on October 17 and will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

A brand new feature that can be experienced both online and offline – Battle Mode!

In Battle Mode, players can take control of customized Metal Fighters. In local multiplayer, up to 4 players can join, while in online multiplayer, a maximum of 8 players can play together. Each game will randomly select one of the four modes: "Star Snatcher," "Survival," "Zap Scrap," and "Race." These modes will be played over three rounds in randomly chosen stages to determine the victor.

Star Snatcher—Players will collect stars that randomly appear in the stage. The player who collects the most stars wins.

Survival—Dodge incoming projectiles with agility and strive to be the last one standing. As the game progresses, the floor beneath you will gradually collapse, so be extra cautious.

Zap Scrap—Shoot bullets to inflict as much damage as possible on your enemies. Picking up items will enhance your attack power.

Race—Engage in races across various stages. The player who reaches the finish line first wins!

Players have the option to personalize their Metal Fighters by swapping out components and choosing different colors to achieve their desired look. Throughout the advancement of the Story Mode, the store will consistently replenish new parts. The tokens needed to acquire these custom components can be earned during gameplay. While making progress in the Story Mode, relish the enjoyment of Battle Mode with your family and friends!

Sonic Superstars sets itself apart from Sonic Mania or Sonic Origins as a brand-new release by Sonic Team, offering fresh levels and content rather than being a remake or remaster of previous titles. Players will have the opportunity to play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or Amy Rose, utilizing new powers of the Chaos Emeralds to navigate and attack in unique ways. Embark on a solo adventure or co-op with up to three other players to traverse breathtaking and unprecedented environments while attempting to thwart the plans of Dr. Eggman.
