The South Korean game studio SHIFT UP, established by Hyung Tae Kim (formerly the art director for Blade & Soul), also known as the developer of the popular mobile game NIKKE: Goddess of Victory, has officially entered into a publishing agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). This marks SHIFT UP as the first South Korean studio to become a part of SIE's second-party partner program. Under this agreement, SIE will oversee the global distribution of SHIFT UP's upcoming action RPG, Stellar Blade.
Stellar Blade was initially revealed under the codename "Project EVE" during the "State of Play" livestream, with the announcement that the game would be exclusively released on the PlayStation 5 platform in 2023. The storyline is set on a forsaken Earth, where Eve, desiring to reclaim the lost planet, encounters a survivor named Adam. Together with their companions, they join forces to combat the malevolent creatures known as "NA:tives" that threaten to destroy Earth. As they explore the remnants of human civilization, they gradually piece together the truth about the past.
