The Japanese manga series Ya Boy Kongming! ("Paripi Koumei") written by Yuto Yotsuba and illustrated by Ryou Ogawa has announced earlier last month that it will be adapted into a live-action TV drama, which is set to air on Fuji TV in the coming fall season.
Today, it was further revealed that the role of the female protagonist, Eiko Tsukimi, will be portrayed by Moka Kamishiraishi. Along with the announcement also came the newly released promotional visuals.
The story of Ya Boy Kongming! describes the famous military strategist Zhuge Kongming from the Three Kingdoms period, who suffered a devastating blow from the failure of five northern expeditions and the worsening of his illness, eventually passing away at the age of 54. However, he unexpectedly reincarnates in modern-day Shibuya, Japan, where he meets the singer-songwriter Eiko Tsukimi. From there, he begins to act as her strategist in order to help her achieve her dream.
