根据外媒报道所述，法国动画公司 Cyber Group Studios 将会与 Square Enix 联手制作《Final Fantasy IX》系列动画剧集，面向 8 至 13 岁的儿童。以此同时，这家公司会负责全球发行、授权以及推出周边商品等等。
Cyber Group Studios 首席执行官 Pierre Sissmann 在接受采访时透露，公司预计在未来几个月内开始宣传该系列，目标是在 2021 年底或 2022 年初开始制作，暂时还不确定剧集时长、集数以及上映时间。本作《Final Fantasy IX》这部作品最初推出于 2000 年 7 月，讲述着盗贼吉坦以及伙伴们，绑架了亚历山大王国的嘉妮特公主，但因为一系列的情况下，达成了合作共同展开一场不可思议的冒险旅途，对抗更大的威胁。
