在去年 12 月份《最终幻想 14》因为推出 6.0 版本吸引了超大量玩家涌入，由于数据中心爆满导致许多玩家无法进入游戏或者排队太久，所以最后官方决定暂停游戏销售、关闭注册和试玩版。而在今日的游戏公告，对于新人玩家来说算是迎来了一丝丝曙光。
官方宣布即将在 1 月 25 日本地时间下午 4 点恢复对新玩家的游戏销售，代表新人能够加入《最终幻想 14》了，但免费试玩注册依然会处于关闭阶段，持续观察服务器稳定性一段时间后才会恢复。另外，如果服务器之后还出现极度拥堵状态，不排除官方会考虑再次暂停销售。除了以上所述，游戏的世界数据中心都将于今年陆续扩充，而已经计划了一段时间的 Oceanian Data Center 预定 1 月 25 日正式上线，并且会在 1 月 26 日恢复 Home World Transfer 服务。
