由 EA DICE 所研发的《Battlefield》系列新作《Battlefield 2042》从推出至今就饱受玩家争议，因为游戏中的一连串技术问题、漏洞、外挂等诸多问题，让这款游戏充斥着大量的负面评论，在线人数也惨遭滑铁卢，两个月前最巅峰在 STEAM 平台上还能有 105,397 人，如今却仅剩下 5,000 人左右。
而最近，还有传闻爆料指出 Electronic Arts (EA) 已经对《Battlefield 2042》这个项目表现感到非常失望，甚至考虑将其转为免费游玩形式，试图重新吸引新玩家的加入。但鉴于这款游戏才推出几个月，若是突然转为免费肯定会掀起付费购买的玩家“炎上”，除非 EA 有办法作出相应合理的政策。
