在过去就有很多传闻 Kojima Production 将会与微软 Xbox 合作，而最近 Games Beat 的编辑 Jeff Grubb 在播客节目上透露，Xbox 和小岛秀夫工作室双方即将完成签署新游戏的合作协议，仅剩下一些最终细节正在协商敲定，同时 Jeff Grubb 还表示「这个合作它不会不被签署」。
除此之外，Jeff 提到不久前微软 Xbox 聘请的游戏设计师 Kim Swift 将与小岛秀夫合作开发新作，更多合作细节有待官方正式发表，以上的内容暂时只能看看就好，并不属于正式确认的消息。顺带一提，Kim Swift 过去曾负责过《Left 4 Dead》、《Portal》以及 Stadia 等等项目。而 Jeff Grubb 之前也多次准确爆料过一些消息。
